Mary Trump on Monday slammed her uncle, 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, as a “weak, fragile man” who is “deeply weird and deeply disturbed” and someone who “needs to be mercilessly mocked.”
“He told us recently that what he hates, probably more than anything else, is being laughed at,” the former president’s niece wrote in the latest issue of her email newsletter. The good in us.”
“Not to laugh at him, not to mock him, is to miss an opportunity,” he warned. “It is not mean-spirited, impolite or rude to mock, laugh at or make fun of someone who wants to destroy us.”
“We have to go full steam ahead because as we get closer to the election, we will see how the terms of the fight play out and as bad as what they have been saying so far has been, it is going to get worse,” he added.
Mary Trump, a clinical psychologist who has been a fierce critic of her relative for years, also explained the myriad ways she believes “Republicans are weird,” building on the line of attack currently being used by Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats against Republicans before Harris likely becomes the Democratic nominee.
Ohio Sen. JD Vance, her uncle’s running mate in the 2024 race, received particular scorn. “By adding JD Vance to the Republican ticket, Donald has exponentially increased the level of creepy weirdness, and the Harris campaign and its allies are taking every opportunity to capitalize on it,” Mary Trump wrote.
