- FromSoftware is potentially preparing for more Armored Core content, possibly in the form of DLC for Armored Core 6 or a possible Armored Core 7.
- News of more Armored Core content comes via a job posting at FromSoftware for a character modeler to help with the robots.
- Previous FromSoftware games have received DLC expansions, so the possibility of DLC for Armored Core 6 isn’t surprising.
If a FromSoftware game doesn’t have any DLC, is it really a FromSoftware game? While we don’t have an exact answer to that question, we do know that FromSoftware is apparently gearing up for more Armored Core content. That content could take the form of DLC for Armored Core 6, which launched almost a year ago, or it could mean that an Armored Core 7 is in the works. Either way, it sounds like it’ll be time to return to the robot era.
As first spotted online on tech4gamers forumFromSoftware is currently hiring a Character Modeler. The position, which is currently openrequires the candidate to be able to assist with “character or robot modeling and texturing.” Additionally, job responsibilities include animation and rigging work, as well as the ability to create game events.
Normally, a job offer is a pretty harmless thing, as studios are constantly on the lookout for new talent. That said, FromSoftware only has one game in its portfolio that deals with robots, Armored Core, and that franchise was revived after a hiatus of over a decade.
FromSoftware games often receive DLC expansions
With the exception of Sekiro, nearly every recent FromSoftware release has received some sort of DLC expansion. Whether it be Bloodborne’s Old Hunters expansion or Elden Ring’s recently released Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, FromSoftware has built a reputation for expanding its games with detailed and demanding DLC offerings. In other words, a DLC for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon wouldn’t be out of the ordinary.

I’m glad Shadow of the Erdtree is the end of Elden Ring
Elden Ring, Bloodborne, and Sekiro are proof that FromSoftware thrives when it’s not tied down by its past.
Additionally, a tipster found several lines in Armored Core 6’s text that referenced downloadable content. Those lines explicitly mention the word “DLC” on several occasions, indicating that the potential for DLC isn’t something hyped, but rather built into the game itself.
While a DLC expansion of some sort would be a welcome and appropriate surprise, it’s important to note that the job listing could be for a potential Armored Core 7. Given that Armored Core 6 is effectively a reboot of the series, a sequel title wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. Only time will tell which path FromSoftware decides to take. What is clear, however, is that Armored Core isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and that’s good news on its own.
