Technology contractor based in Fairfax, Virginia Trident Systems will invest $3.7 million to expand its production facilities with an additional plant in Chantilly and create 50 new jobs.
Trident Systems was acquired last year by Arizona-based space and defense manufacturing company LightRidge Solutions for an undisclosed sum.
Trident Systems was founded in 1985 and has grown into a leading producer of space-based electronic systems for both the Department of Defense and the U.S. intelligence community.
“Trident’s rapid growth in delivering unique solutions that maximize our customers’ mission impact has made the need for this larger volume manufacturing facility possible,” said Lorin Hattrup, general manager of Trident Systems’ Space Electronics Division. “Our new manufacturing facility will enable us to offer a broad product portfolio and fast lead times while maintaining affordability.”
Trident Systems will receive state incentives to achieve its expansion and job creation goals through the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s Virginia Jobs Investment Program. It will also receive consulting services.
