Conservative journalist Andy Ngo is no longer editor of the website Quillette after a video was released that apparently shows him witnessing a right-wing group planning a violent attack and doing nothing about it.
Ngo, 33, has gained notoriety in recent months for covering clashes between antifa and the right in Portland, Oregon. The high point for Ngo was when he was assaulted while covering a demonstration, where he was hospitalized with a head wound.
He Portland Mercury On Monday, a man posted a video that appears to show him watching the right-wing group Patriot Prayer making plans for a violent confrontation at a bar, which he did not report or attempt to stop. The website published a story from “Ben,” a pseudonym, who spent two years undercover with Patriot Prayer. Some of the people involved in the fight Now face felony charges related to rioting.
“Ngo accompanies Patriot Prayer during demonstrations in hopes of capturing footage of an altercation. Ben says Ngo does not film Patriot Prayer protesters discussing strategy or motives. He only turns on his camera when Antifa members enter the scene,” the article states.
Hours after the article was published, Ngo removed “Intellectual Dark Web” from his social media bio, while Quillette removed his name as editor.

Quillette editor-in-chief Claire Lehmann rejected the claim that Ngo’s firing was a result of the video’s publication, saying she had been “out of work” since July “after suffering a traumatic brain injury.”
