Following the culmination of The Bad Batch and Tales of the Empire, Lucasfilm Animation’s schedule is conspicuously empty. However, there is hope on the horizon with the release of a new new job application for a Production Coordinator at Lucasfilm in San Francisco (special thanks) ComicBasics.com).

The main job description reads:
The Shot Production Coordinator will be responsible for assisting Associate Production Managers in creating and maintaining animation and lighting department records and processes from pre-production through post-production of an animated television series.
So we know this person will be working at Lucasfilm on an upcoming animation project. Interesting!
There are a couple of possibilities that can be floated. First, it could be a third season of Tales. A lot of people have mentioned the desire for a Tales of the Rebellion or a Tales of the Sith. Second, it could be Season 3 of Visions. While I’m no expert on the animation process, I believe Lucasfilm receives all of those Visions episodes from collaborators more or less as finished projects with perhaps some vocal input along the way. In other words, even if there is a Lucasfilm-created episode or two in that season, I’m not sure it would warrant hiring an entirely new staff member. Third, as Comic Resources noted, there are also rumors circulating or at least some fan inclination toward a Star Wars “What If?” series modeled after the MCU.
My biggest hope, though, is that they’re hiring for a meaty new animated project. It’s possible that it will focus on beloved Clone Wars villain-turned-bounty hunter Ventress, following her cameo in the final season of The Bad Batch, which many fans commented felt like a backdoor pilot. Regardless of whether it’s Ventress or not, I really hope we’re gearing up for some thought-provoking narrative and deep character development. I love short anthologies, but I can’t subsist on snacks — I need a MEAL.

Don’t forget to tune in to The Acolyte tonight at 6:00 pm PT/9:00 pm ET on Disney Plus. In the meantime, listen to showrunner Leslye Headland’s comments on Osha and the Stranger.
When he’s not watching his friends and family get all glazed over at the mention of The Clone Wars, he’s in the park with his dog, Melvin, or on the couch with a book in one hand and a drink in the other. Physically, he lives in Ohio; spiritually, he lives on Naboo.
