Nihon Cyber Defence has a new office in Belfast, located at Law Society House on Victoria Street, to house its growing team.
Japanese cybersecurity firm Nihon Cyber Defense is expanding its team at its Belfast office. The announcement comes just over two years after the company first opened the Belfast office in 2021. At the time, the move to Belfast created 10 jobs.
Today’s announcement (October 10) will see Nihon Cyber Defense create 12 jobs over the next year. The company will move into a new office building to accommodate its growing workforce. It has also gained accreditation from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), meaning it is formally recognised as a response provider for those experiencing cybersecurity issues.
“Being awarded the NCSC Assured Service Provider award is further validation of the quality of the NCD team and the services we provide to clients around the world. There has been a global acceleration in the volume and variety of cyber attacks facing all types of organisations, so there has never been a greater need for expert advice on how to identify and assess risks and prevent and manage incidents,” said Dougie Grant, Managing Director of Nihon Cyber Defense Europe.
Earlier this year, Nihon Cyber Defence partnered with telecoms player BT to become its incident management services provider for the Northern Ireland Civil Service.
The company’s clients include governments, enterprises and public sector organizations that use its intelligence-based services to prevent and respond to cyberattacks.
In addition to its new Belfast office, the firm has also recently opened offices in Manchester, Dublin and Virginia (USA). The new Belfast office, which will continue to be the firm’s European headquarters, is located at the Law Society House on Victoria Street. It includes a new security operations centre to monitor and manage cyber incidents.
The company also has offices in Malaysia and India and its headquarters are in Tokyo.
