Job Description: Senior Manager or Associate Director, Digital Resilience and Defense
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Director or Associate Director who will be instrumental in driving forward the association’s defence-related activities and positions within DIGITALEUROPE. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of defence policies and related areas (i.e. cybersecurity, data exchange and flow, financing, etc.) at national, European and international level, including a thorough knowledge of procurement policies.
In this key role, the Senior Manager or Associate Director will shape the future vision for a stronger and more digital European defence, defining which companies have leading solutions and how the private sector can play a role in making Europe safer and more resilient, and defining which policies need to be improved or developed to support this development.
Responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, high-level participation, delivering value to members and external stakeholders by facilitating meetings, establishing common positions with members, and driving member recruitment.
Key Requirements:
- Six to twelve years or more of relevant industry or government experience.
- Deep knowledge and practical experience in defense, cybersecurity, military information security or operations.
- Proven experience working with EDA, National Ministry of Defense, ENISA, National Cybersecurity Authorities, Computer Emergency Response Teams or NATO.
- Motivated, well organized, team player with experience in team management.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with high-level stakeholders and promote a common vision.
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
Additional valuable qualifications:
- Experience in developing and driving corporate leadership and business strategy.
- Deliver compelling results in building partnerships, consortia and stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to build consensus among different stakeholders.
- Experience working in a defense association or company.
- Excellent research, writing and analytical skills.
- Strong presentation skills, including experience presenting to members, senior staff and external audiences.
- Mastery of English; knowledge of German and/or French desirable.
- Experience in politics, business management or the military.
