Assam Government Jobs 2024:In a major boost to job seekers in Assam, the state government has unveiled plans for its largest-ever recruitment drive, aiming to fill around 35,000 vacancies across various departments by April 2025. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the initiative today, July 9, on his official social media account X (formerly Twitter).
Over 6,400 vacant posts in the Assam Police will be filled up, with physical examinations scheduled to begin from October 3. For aspirants seeking Grade III and Grade IV posts, the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) will follow a three-stage format – preliminary examinations, mains examinations and a final round of oral defence. The Grade III recruitment, which offers over 7,500 posts, will have preliminary examinations to be held on September 15, 22 and 29. Similarly, Grade IV examinations for over 4,500 posts will be held on October 20 and 27.

The education sector will also see a significant boost with plans to recruit over 13,000 teachers for primary and secondary schools. The government is expected to release specific details about this teacher recruitment drive soon.
